WISE+ currently consists of six student members. Below, we would like to introduce ourselves.

Lotte Gritter (she/her) –Chair
Hi, I am Lotte and I study mathematics and physics. I have been a member of WISE+ since 2023, and this year I am our chair. What I like most about WISE+ is that we organise a mix of fun and educational activities. This allows students to meet each other in an accessible way. In addition, they can learn new things about gender inequality in science and how we can combat this. There’s something for everyone!

Jelke de Haan (she/her) –Secretary
Hiiii, I’m Jelke and I study Data Science. Before that, I completed bachelor’s degrees in Computer Science, Information Science and Mathematics. In addition to my studies, I also work at the university, so you may encounter me in various roles! I have been active at WISE+ since January 2024, and this academic year I am fulfilling the role of secretary. I find the mission of WISE+ very important, because everyone should be able to feel welcome and at home at the university. With WISE+, we create such a place: a community where you can make new friends and learn a lot. What I like most is that you get to know students from all kinds of programmes!

Buse Yilmaz (she/her) -Treasurer
Hii!~ I am Buse and I study Human-Computer Interaction (with a background in computer science). At the start of 2025, I was approached by the WISE+ members to join the team. Accessibility in our field is something I am passionate about, partially because being a science student used to seem virtually impossible for me. I hope that with WISE+ we can achieve something great to create more community at the university! >:)

Fleur Leenders (she/her) – Communication
Hey there! My name is Fleur and I am following a double degree in Computer and Information sciences. Alongside my degree, I am following the educational minor to become a secondary school teacher. As a teacher, I hope to inspire young woman to pursue a path in computer science. Since November 2024, I am a board member of WISE+. I joined the team, because I find it important that everyone feels at home at the university, regardless of gender. Due to the mix educational and fun activities, WISE+ offers a space to meet new people and learn new things.

Jagna Hendriks (they/them) – Promotion
Heya, I am Jagna. My role at WISE+ is to make promotion material, such as our posters. At the start of 2022, I was asked to help out at WISE+, and I never left. I find it difficult to get to know new people, which is an important part of being a student. In addition to making it easier to collaborate on assignments, exercises and deadlines, it is also important to feel at home, and getting to know new people is an important part of this. I want to make this easier for others.

Julius Kurvers (he/him) – External & Educational Affairs
Hi! I’m Julius and I’m studying mathematics, game technology & information science. I was asked to join WISE+ in mid-2025, specifically to raise awareness among men and those who are less familiar with our mission. When you’re part of the majority yourself, it’s difficult to see where diversity can be improved. Having experienced this challenge myself, I’d like to make it more accessible to others. Within WISE+ I focus primarily on educational activities and career orientation in order to raise awareness, particularly outside of our target group.
